Producers started as Performers is how I understand it. It was suggested I should become one a while back, that I'd be good at it.

There are a lot of good Producers who are trying to help. There's some who don't. If you meet the Doctor, for example, he probably came out specifically because he was bored and wanted to see us suffer.

So far they seem somewhat obvious. [his eyebrows furrow] You were told to become one?

. . . are there any more like him?

[ Shakes his head. ]

They suggested I could be a good one, I turned the idea down.

[ He nods. ]

The Dame is one of the worst. The Demiurge helped her in a performance once, but seemed to at least want to play by her rules while the Dame was eager to kill everyone. [ He thinks, ] The Showmaster's performances can be dangerous, but it's usually by our own actions.

Why did they say that?

[a bit of a huff]

What do they even get out of doing that? Besides some sick pleasure out of hurting people?

... Probably because of what I was doing at the time in our attempt to talk to the ship.

[ Anyway! ]

Well, I think the ones who do it are the ones who definitely enjoy it but... I don't know otherwise? Other than helping progress the journey we're on along, I'd guess.

But I guess that's as much an answer as any.

Yeah, the ship is alive and sentient. Just, not sentient the way we expect.

This ship just gets stranger and stranger.

You're just now catching on, are you?

Right now, we don't have access to a lot of the ship. The subway's the furthest we can do, but there's more to see. Which is why I think if it's a journey of finding them, it may be there but we have to figure out how to unlock more areas.

Has anyone been able to unlock other areas like that so far?

Supposedly they couldn't even go down that far before...?

I was told if we wanted to go further, to keep doing what we were doing.

I can tell you right now you'd be too embarrassed to do what I was doing that got that answer.

... collected stuff that represented every family in a magic school and held hands with Gingham while talking about journeys and stuff.

Must be... Actually, I should tell you something. It can wait.

Anyway. We'd have to drag him along - Gingham, I mean, because I promised not to do something I know might be stupid without him.

[ that's not the exact wording, but it's how he takes it. ]

So he . . . wants to do something potentially stupid with you?

Y..yes?

[ a beat. ]

As in, like we'd rather be there if one of us is doing something that might hurt the other...? Especially after the fire thing and the ocean thing.

I guess that makes sense.

[he doesn't get it but why would he, with his negative relationship experience]

I wouldn't mind if he wanted to come along, though.

[ he looks a little amused and nods ]

If we ever do something that's stupid, I'll make sure to pass on the invitation.

[ ... ] Speaking of, not like stupid but - sometimes people get lost and wind up in places like the subway as well? Goose did a while back for a few days.
